Hi,
you either do select an area of notes with the mouse cursor (if the click is outside the current selection), or drag a selection (if inside current selection).
Idea:
only drag, if the cursor click is on a note within the selection. If the click is on an empty line, make a new selection instead.
So the selection “feels more lightweight”, just like air, and not like a block between you and the notes.
