Is there a PC/Mac compatible issue?

I was downloading all the entries at the contest at audiotournament.com in which everyone use Renoise, and running some failures upon loading some of the songs. Upon participating we made sure to install all the required AU’s/VST’s in order to load the songs correctly.

So, in short: I have the plug-ins in question installed but Renoise still doesn’t load some of the instruments. I’m unsure how to reproduce this as some other songs works flawlessy.

I have no idea what this is about, I’m just wondering. And my first guess is that some of the participants used PC and I’m on a Mac, unless there’s something else?

It doesn’t seem to be a case about 64-bit/32-bit iether as I’ve tried with both.

The plug-ins in question:
Digital Suburban - Dexed [works]
Blockfish - Tunefish4 [doesn’t work]

TAL - NoiseMaker [doesn’t work]

The plug-ins themselves have both PC and Mac platform-versions, so from here on this is beyond my computer technical knowledge.Perhaps it could still be something un-renoise related, but rather related to the plug-in’s themselves. If so, this post would be useless here and I should rather contact respective plug-in manufacturer.

I have now notified the manufacturers.

From my experience (Windows notebook and Mac desktop), some VST plug-ins could be cross-platform if the actual “.vst” file (under system folders) got the same file-name.

It seems I just mixed up the AU and VST versions of the same plug-ins (the plug-in menu in Renoise was a bit unclear at first).

I had the AU versions, but after installing the VST versions it seems to work now!
