Issues with Rxx command

I’ve been using Renoise more lately, and I noticed my Rxx command doesn’t behave like on the YT tutorial on the topic. Basically, anything above R03 will just retrigger the sample once. Also, if I use Rx later on the line, it will retrigger the loop from the start, not continue playing it.
I tried an older version (3.1) on the same computer and it behaves normally. Any ideas what’s going on?

Also, bonus question: when I press the space bar to start/playing the track with Esc/editing enabled, sometimes it will spam random keys and delete notes, I don’t know what’s causing this.

Go to Song > Song Options and check the ticks per line:

The retrigger command operates based on these ticks.

Also, if I use Rx later on the line, it will retrigger the loop from the start, not continue playing it.

This is intended behavior. If you don’t want it to restart the sample, you can use Rx in the pan/volume columns.

Thanks for you answer. I didn’t even know that option section existed. It was set to 3 ticks per line by default on both my installs. Now it’s doing what I want.

But I don’t understand why R1 (in the volume collumn) retriggered from the start of the sample (when I put it at 16, it does what I expected)

E: for the space bar spamming keys… it was just autohotkeys that randomly acted, no idea why.
