Journey's End - trance track

Hi there Renoise fans,

I just wanted to share with you something that I produced using our fave tracker. I’ve been practicing my craft for a few years, not quite as intensively as I should (running marathons takes a lot of your spare time also!) but I’ve managed to make something here that I’m really proud of and I wanted to show some people what I did. I hope you like it!

It’s a trance track, piano-ish, around 8:30 in length.

I’m not a big fan of the pounding thump-thump-thump kick. It’s a bit hard for my taste, but I can see if you’re aiming for a clubby feel, that it works.

OK, that was the bad news out of the way. Once the kick takes a back seat, the rest of it is well put together and you use those long modulation sweeps to good, classical acid/trance effect. It matches the classical trance middle song breakdown, and change of topic.

I do think that the compressor use is a little heavy-handed, but again, that’s a club thing.

Thanks for the feedback Jan!

good job Rick
