Key binding for "repeat last <current field>"

I suggest a new keybinding which does the following, say i map it to spacebar.

If i press spacebar while on the note column, it enters the last note i entered. If i’m on the volume column and press the space bar, it enters the last volume i entered, and so on.

…no one else thinks it’s a good idea? Come on, old Impulse Tracker buffs! :D

The last note or the previous note above the current position? this is easy scriptable, the last inserted data is hard to script. Specially if you pasted clipboard contents.

Bring suggestions and I’d be happy trying to adapt what is possible.

EDIT: Ah… what was last entered is more difficult as Vv says. It would require lots of observables and would probably be sluggish.
