so i moved from windows 8 to ubuntu 13.10 linux and i have renoise 2.8 for windows and linux, under wine windows renoise works great… but slow… linux renoise loads, but no sound. i’ve read the linux faq for renoise and did everything like it said, but still… no sound. i run the unity WM and have jackd and all the required libs/files. can anyone help?
does alsa work for you? have you configured jackd properly to use correct soundcard etc (easiest with qjackctl or similar)? do you have multiple soundcards? do you get any errors when renoise is starting audio system? also try starting renoise from terminal and see if there are any errors.
