i’ve been absent here on the forums a while, but now comes the time to tell you guys something about what i’ve been up to. me and a friend (going by the online moniker of ‘machinebacon’) have been roasting some new, lightweight, bloat-free, no-bullshit Linux releases. the ‘umbrella’ name of the project is LinuxBBQ, and you can check out the site here: http://linuxbbq.org
now, you might wonder, how is this of any interest to a man (or woman) using Renoise? well, the first beta of the ‘Rocks!’ release has just come out. it is a distro focussed on audio production, comes with a realtime-enabled kernel, Jack, is based on Debian Sid, and contains a wealth of FOSS Linux music-related apps (including my own python+curses Chords! piano reference terminal app thingy).
what we need is people who dig this kind of thing and want to take it for a testrun. of course when you are enthusiastic or found a bug or have a suggestion or whatever, we’d also like you to let us know so that we can improve this thing and make it the lightest, smoothest, nicest Linux audio distro there is. and, since Renoise is still my favorite audio app, especially since it has a native Linux version, it would be quite awesome if it would become the best Linux distro to run Renoise on.

hope you all enjoy it!
