Would be nice simple addition to have an option/key command to load the selected sample into the next available slot. Just saves a few mouse/keyboard clicks moving up and down manually.

+1 You don’t know how many times I’ve replaced samples accidentally because i didn’t hit the down key.
Or at least a popup on a non-empty instrument like:
Replace current sample?
[ Yes ] [ No ]
[] Don't show this again

I notice that when you drag a sample directly from filebrowser into the pattern, THAT actually does load it into a new free slot! so the tech is already there, just no key or menu for it.
Strangely does not work for me - dragging a sample into a pattern still replaces the current instrument.
