I really like the feature that makes it possible to load samples directly from another Renoise-song.
Is there a lot of work involved to be able to load VST-instruments (or the complete Instrument-data I guess, including Midi properties / Sample properties / VST Instrument Properties) from the Renoise-song as well?
I often tend to tweak some really cool instruments inside my tracks but then forgetting to save them individually as xrni-instruments or inside the vst-instrument’s own soundbank-manager. Loading these instruments directly from an XRNS would really be a killer feature in my opionion.
I also noticed when double-clicking a XRNI-file, with the preview mode turned on, and if the instrument contains both a sample and a vsti, only the volume of the sample vill be adjusted according to the prehear volume, not the vsti (which is at full volume). Unavoidable I guess?
This is an old thread but it’s something I’d love to see implemented.
It would be great to be able to load an instrument from an existing song instead of having to go through all the “save current song, load old song, save instrument, load new song again, load saved instrument” steps.
Thanks for the tip Bantai, looks useful for dumping all instruments etc.
I’m still making the suggestion though, as everyone knows convenience vs laziness are strong factors when it comes to creativity. Being able to load the instruments the same way as you load samples from old projects (I do this all the time) is just a very convenient feature. I can’t imagine it being very hard to implement either, since the XRNI structure must be similar to XRNS (XML inside a ZIP-container).
dont think there is an #expected update, a bugfix was just recently released.
Your license is valid for one full version. For example, if you start with Renoise 2.7 you’ll get updates up until, and including, 3.7. Our point releases pack features, not just maintenance updates. Check out our release notes and see for yourself what a great value this represents.
Nope. Only thing I DO know is there’s an update on the way… maybe within a year, maybe in a decade… maybe in 20 year… I dunno:

I may have missed it, but i couldn’t find this in the list of feature suggestions, so i bump
EDIT: I bumped the wrong thread, it was the ‘load xrni from xrns’ i wanted, but i guess both suggestions are worthy
