I’ve been looking for a song for quite some time now…
It’s a instrumental version of Teach-in’s “Ding a Dong”, the 1975 eurovision song contest winner from the Netherlands.
The original has some really cheesy lyrics: “… and the world looks sunny, everyone is funny, when they sing a song that goes Ding-Ding-Dong…”
…but that doesn’t matter because the one I’m looking for is a really cool acid jazz version with distorted organs and stuff. Problem is, I have no idea who made it.
I used to have a old cassette (MC) from the late 70s - mid 80s with some mixed music. The other songs on the cassette where (as I recall):
- Bimbo Jet - El Bimbo (El Bimbo was also the title of the cassette)
- ABBA - Fernando
- Rolling Stones - Angie
- Deodato - Also Sprach Zarathurstra
- another ABBA song and some other crap…
The fact that deodato has a song on the cassette makes me think that maybe they’re behind the song I’m looking for too …since it pretty much the same style.
Anyway, I don’t have any high expectations that anyone else have heard this song but it’s still worth a shot… besides, maybe someone knows about a forum or something where people talk about rare music?
