Loop section in sample editor while auditioning from keyboard

I must be having a brainfart because I am almost sure Ihave done this in the past , if not it’s hard to believe this is not possible
Load a long sample in the editor
enable keyboard icon
Make selection+loop
Result : it won 't loop

are you saying that if you select a selection from a long sample, and make it into a loop, the keyjazzing from pckeyboard should start playing that selection and loop it?

Maybe this is what you did in the past?

  1. Highlight the area
  2. right click > copy to new sample
  3. make loop in new sample
  4. preview new sample

And it loops inside the sampler not on pattern editor.

this sounds like something i should make, i.e. “isolate selection, duplicate & loop new instrument”.

i’ll add it to my github.

Reason why I asked is becasue I have a long file that was extracted from the JD800 internal rom
Some of the sections are verry small and and are thus meant to be looped , but there is no option to loop them in the file to audiotion and adjust loop points

is that jd800 internal rom extraction possible to share or is it only for you? would love to look.
(i have a jd800 at home so if there’s a website that allows for explaining how to do it with the synth, then would love to know)
