When I try to render clean low-frequency synth sounds, like a kick drum, the first note is not rendered, and when it does, it’s super quiet. Turning off the track headroom doesn’t make any difference.
Are you using Sample Recorder, or Render Song, or something else?
Do you get the same result if you put a one line pattern before this one that delays for one second (ZDxx)?
I’m using ‘Render To Sample’ with a vst synth. I can render low tones using the Plugin Grabber, but I have this problem when trying to render directly through the pattern using Render To Sample shortcut. Same results with ZDxx, and I just realized that Render Song also has the same problem. The problem gets worse with second note closest to the first.
So plays fine but ‘Rendering’ …sounds different than what you hear.
Hmm, don’t know; could try to toggle ‘Automatic PDC’, it may help.
I assume there’s something wrong with the plugin. Some other guys also had similar issues, the first note was missing after rendering. If I remember correctly it turned out that the plugin was the culprit, not Renoise.
Afaik there is no shortcut in terms of “Render To Sample”.
Are you talking about “Render Plugin To Instrument”?
I’ve created a quick 808 in Serum and checked all the options, which means “Render To Sample” via track, “Render To Samples” via plugin tab, “Render To Sample” via main menu, “Render Plugin To Instrument” by right clicking on the plugin in the instrument list and “Render Song To DIsk”. There are no missing notes or volume issues, regardless of the resolution and the distances of notes. BUT every method except “Render Song To DIsk” results in a different sound because the beginning of the instrument gets cut differently. Which is weird because in the end everything happens in the same Plugin Grabber, except “Render To Sample” via track. Anyway, you get the best results for single instruments via “Render To Samples” in the plugin tab, but if there’s an effect chain in your track and you want to keep the sound including this chain, then “Render To Sample” via track is the best option. But if you want to keep the very original sound, keep your VSTi and don’t sample that shit.
