M2 chip Renoise almost killed my mac

Luckly I was able to get my user screen back, it was like a antenna tv with no signal with Mac OS trying to log in to the system OS, there are lots of contrs in this since it was like a irq set back in fast tracker where the computers have a fatal error just by swapping irq on sound card preferences so I can’t run Renoise sadly… the other points I have to say is wishing you guys good luck and to witness all sample sounds not just from Renoise sample bank that are corrupted, you may know it takes a 0.5 secs freequency to fall a sleep and 1 secs signal for not waking up… managing loopmasters and others brands sample banks I encounter those tiny frequencies or the tickling everybody dislike and its not problem from the pc or daw there were just exported with background processes running maybe a enemy label since this war has reached electronic music in a way has I said can kill…mouth noises, who codes music like that? Kids deal with AI since they were born and call me stone aged by processing the sound 1 by 1 modulating and effecting to reach that desired moment in time…cross your legs pray your prayers because its like messing with fire…

I’m honestly having a hard time interpreting your rambling post, but things are working fine here on my M2 MacBook Pro.

I don’t mean to sound dismissive but I don’t know if that’s possible or really probable at all. Are you sure it wasn’t kind of on the fritz to begin with? Seems like more of a coincidence than anything else IMHO

But I wholeheartedly agree with this

LOL, funky posts. Disable sandboxing, replace all plugins with arm versioins, make sure each also is natively loaded, and you will have the fastest Renoise ever. You also seem to mix up lot of topics, not sure what babies using AI have to do with your harddrive… And sleep / wakeup times. If your arm(?) system not instantly wakingup, which I doubt, then you might use something with a huge memory leak.

Not sure this is the right thread, but i’m also getting a memory leak on my M2 mac. This only seems to happen if i keep renoise open and sleep the machine. After waking, the OS alerts me that i’ll need to close some apps because it’s out of memory and I noticed last time that renoise was using 20Gb of memory.

Interesting, can you nail down this a bit more? What does the activity monitor say for physically used memory amount, is it maybe a renoise bridge process, so a plugin you use, did you enable sandboxing?

I will try to repro and get some more data. I don’t think it’s a plugin, since i didn’t have any enabled. I’m also not sure what sandboxing is, but happy to try enabling it.

I mean the plugin sandboxing, try to DISABLE it and then restart Renoise.

I’m assuming that sandboxing is set via the ‘run all plugins in sandboxes’ setting (sorry I’m fairly new to renoise), which is disabled. i would image it would have been disabled when i last experienced the memory leak too, but i can’t be sure. i’ll keep renoise open with this setting and see if i can reproduce the issue.
