macOS fullscreen issues: gray bar + missing window buttons

Brief description:
Gray sidebar appears when exiting fullscreen via Alt + green button on macOS. Also, the red/yellow/green window buttons are missing in fullscreen mode.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Launch Renoise on macOS
  2. Enter fullscreen mode (e.g. via green window button or Control + Command + F)
  3. Observe that the red, yellow, and green window buttons are not visible in fullscreen
  4. Exit fullscreen
  5. Hold Alt and click the green window button to make the window fill the screen (without entering fullscreen)
  6. Observe the right edge of the window

Expected results:

  • The three window buttons (red/yellow/green) should be visible in fullscreen, or hidden in a standard way depending on macOS behavior
  • Alt-clicking the green button should expand Renoise to full window size with no visual glitches

Actual results:

  • In fullscreen, the window buttons are not shown (no way to exit fullscreen with mouse)
  • In windowed full-size mode (Alt + green button), a gray vertical bar appears on the right side

Description:
The gray bar only shows up when using the Alt + green button method in windowed mode. It does not appear in fullscreen. Also, in fullscreen mode, the absence of macOS window controls (close/minimize/maximize) makes exiting fullscreen less intuitive.

Renoise is using a custom fullscreen mode instead of Apple’s standard fullscreen mode for backwards compatibility with older versions of macOS.

We’ll change that in an upcoming release to use the Apple standard one instead.
