New to the forum but been using Renoise for quite a while.
I’m sure this is an easy one but I can’t for the life of me remember how I did it or how it works…
Simple example using only Track 1, a VST Plugin and the Renoise Delay effect:
If I play the song I hear the notes and delay effect as expected.
If I stop the track, the delay effect will continue and then fade out as expected (feedback/send dependent)
If I play the song and use the mouse to turn down track 1 (using the mixer slider) the notes fade out but the delay continues (feedback/send dependent)
If I use my midi control keyboard (M-Audio Oxygen 49) to turn down track 1 using its slider, the notes fade out and the delay also fades out.
Basically i want it where i drop the slider to zero on my midi controller, the notes will fade out but the Delay effect will continue for the duration of the feedback/send settings.
I’ve managed to do this on other songs but my tiny fish tank brain can’t remember how i did it.
Hope that all makes sense and any help would be appreciated.
I just noticed that when I look at the mixer (un-docked mode on a separate monitor) and move the track slider on my MIDI control keyboard, the mixer slider animates, the volume slider animates (between Panning and Width) but there is another slider to the right of the box with Panning, Volume, Width. It has an up/down dB slider and a Panning slider. This doesn’t animate in the songs that allow the Delay effect to continue but does animate in songs that shut the Delay off (MIDI Slider set to zero)
I appear to have assigned MIDI data to it (same CC number as the Mixer slider and the Volume slider) Just cleared the MIDI data from the dB slider and all is well with the world again.
Shit on this slider upfuck! Renoise should make the mute(off) button automateable! That fixed the problem in a straight, direct and clear way. I hate all this slider workarounds!
then why not just midi map it? Is it not automatable? I don’t have a control surface to test it at the moment, but mute and solo show up as midi mapping options, and so does the track toggle active/off/mute button
Same problem! I dont have a control device here and make a custom midimapping for my masterkeyboard is again a unneeded and unwanted workaround. I dont want any workaround for such elementary functions. And i must ask me the following: When a midi command can mute a Renoise Track, then why it cant muted by a Renoise parameter? All what is needed for that is already in the program! Provided that a Midi track is the same like a Renoise track. I dont know that.
