Making remixes/mashcore in renoise

is there a way that i could make shoebill type mashcore in renoise? i’ve tried and i don’t really know how to operate with long samples in renoise and how to beatsync songs in renoise

for beatsync, you can use the Rubber Band Aid tool Rubberband timestretch & pitch shift | Tool | Renoise

and timestretch your sample.

For “operating with long samples”, you have different ways either you use Autoseek and keep the sample a single note, or you chop your sample and re-place it on grid

Or you can slice it, then right click, go to slices, then render slices to phrase, and it will be self-contained in the instrument. Although, to be fair, I’m not sure how well it works for long samples. Never tried it on anything over a couple bars

wouldn’t that just chop and place the chops at the right place ? leaving gaps or completely mushing the chops in case of big tempo changes ?

Guess I meant after time stretching :upside_down_face:

What I usually do for long samples is slicing the sample equally with many points. I set the unit to 0S, which goes form 00 - FF and is easier to slice equally. You can set the unit used in the sampler when rightclicking it. Then I turn beatsync and autoseek on every slice.
