Making Renoise Truly Mobile...

Evening

Recently, I have been using a lot of mobile apps.

I have managed to get Renoise running from my iPod, but there are a couple of issues.

  1. Preferences do not get saved.

I am guessing that Renoise uses the registry in Windows to store user data, so this is not going to work with anything mobile.

Is there a way to change the location of the user data (preferences etc,) so that it can be on the mobile device itself, rather than the registry?

  1. VST plugin locations

Closely related to the first question; is there a way to point Renoise to the mobile device for plugin storage. Everytime I plug in to a computer, the drive letter is different due to different system set ups. I need to be able to tell Renoise to ignore the drive letter and just use the device…

Any ideas?

:walkman:

Vadarfone, you have renoise running in an emu running on windows mobile on an ipod touch? Pics!

I suspsect Renoise only uses the Registry to add an uninstall-string.
For the preferences, one thing required is the APPDATA environment variable which holds where the Application Data folder is…
If you could SET APPDATA=“C:\Documents and Settings[username]\Application Data” you might pull it off…

Hmm. I will get on it and tell you the results when I make any break-throughs.

Cheers.

Can you PLEASE post pic’s this is just toooooooo exciting!!
