be warned. at least on windows: you cant change the install path.

Can’t on Mac either. It makes it’s own “Max 6” folder in Applications.

i think thats ok for mac.
but on windows its not nice to run it from the c: drive which is typically the system partition on most windows machines.
otherwise its just a public demo

The new features are not that great for me… i think i’ll stick with Max5

nope, thats a mac thing. you cant move folders on windows (no symbolic links) without breaking dependencies and registry entries.

you can indeed make symlinks on windows.

they didn’t seem to make it available as a vst again so I’m not interested

my dream would be to make some beats with Max running as a vst in Renoise. Combined with automation through pattern editor that would be just awesome.

(reaktor can do it actually but I prefer to program Max patches )

i guess its due to the ableton collabo deal.

but rewire and osc is still there.

nice to see that the ntfs filesystem has changed a bit since xp.
