Maximizer device goes above threshold/ does not limit

Hi everyone!
I keep running into a problem with my Limiter ( maximizer device ) on the master bus.
The audio keeps going above the threshold I set no matter what settings I try. All I am trying to do is get about 4db boost on my master and limit at -0.2. I am pretty sure the problem is not in my mix, because it is well balanced and doesn’t clip at any point before the limiter ( the overall peak of my mix before master is about -6 to -3), however after I boost in the limiter it keeps clipping. I dont really understand how the attack and release work on the maximizer, but it doesn’t limit no matter what settings I try. I have attached a screenshot to clarify

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me understand what im doing wrong here

As I understand it, you got to set the threshold to -6db or below then. What ever you want to have boosted below -6db

I’m not sure why this would be, but I think the DC Filter is the culprit here. I set up a test mix and didn’t get any clipping until I enabled it.

Edit: I can replicate this with any filter or EQ in fact. Probably due to phase shifting or other minute artifacts in the resulting audio.

I will have another go without the DC filter. I don’t understand why that happens, but it makes sense as applied after the limiter.
