Love this track, the choice of ghostly bit-reducted chords timbre. Check all the boxes for me. Nice spatialization across all mixes for all parts. Very coherent dialogue between the breaks and 303. I would have like a longer track, so I pressed “play” twice.
SimulatedXen - Memory Dilation Suite
I love the complete audio scene / space morphing of the intro. Contrast of the loud modulated basses articulations with the soft reverby piano. PartII - 3.25 : You get an almost electroacoutic composition with these granulars events that get wipe with the return of basses transitioning to the Aaron quote. 5:00 :proper harsh and loved breakbeating environment with cuts coming back to “cavernated” piano spaces with a FFT freeze transtition. He uses my beloved Japanese accent “NINTENDO PAWA™” (funny fellow (●’◡’●) ) completing the track with a proper fade-out . Nice work ! For sure, many people of this era won’t make it to the end. You need more than 3 min. of focus and attention. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Great setup of a mysterious vibe blended timbres for introduction guides you to rythmic intrusions accents that would be taken for euclidian polyrythms throught filtering and reverses. Almost a cinematic scene for a cultist dream. 4:26 we transition to catheralistic space or wombistic space, depending of your choice, witnessing the grandeur of mystic singularity.

What a mellow use of glide in the intro and with pleasant rhody keys comping, and well done mix. You get an inviting soul drum that would had like to groove, maybe more for me. Constant track.

I feel this one as a nice ambient video game track. Soft slow pace. I like the drum pattern syncope that makes you reverse your feet beating on the floor. It’s too short for it’s tempo and the time it takes to firmly set.

@alien7 - nice reworking of the source material. Groovy dance and synth wave vibes here. Good pacing and sense of spaciousness throughout. I feel like the mix could be balanced a bit differently to let some of the elements shine a bit more. I feel like the bass tuning is slightly off. To my ears at least. I enjoy this track. Makes me wanna dance 
@jorgeteeth - great energy and execution. VSnares vibes all over this. Reminds me of Hospitality-era Funk. Love the integration of the vocals. The mix sounds great. Excellent work. Top 3 for sure
@Woodpecking_Mantis - I pretty much love everything I’ve heard of yours. This is no exception. Intricate execution that adds a lot of original flavor to an already excellent track (@Daed’s) . I appreciate the range of feeling dynamics in this. Harsh breaks, cutsie-playful melodic elements, stumbling, staggering rhythms, bursts of earnest heaviness. Good stuff. Top 3
@sokoban - Nice reinterpretation of the original. Some of the elements feel kind of static and need more life, imo. Especially the vocal chops. For a “stressed” remix, I’d like to hear some more blistering breaks and/or heaviness contrasting the chilled out melodies. Well done in any case.
@stoiximan - Gotta boost your loudness on the master a bit, I think. I like the mood of the piece. Kind of ponderous and melancholic. I see that you figured out how to write in something other than 4/4! 9/4 is a nice one. The synths sound great. I’d like to hear a proper resolution to the track and more variation (could be subtle) in the bass. Nice work!
@SimulatedZen - Lovely intro. I dig the pastiche approach to this challenge. Your mastery of glitch continues to impress. Awesome dynamics in the mix. Bass elements especially sound fantastic. The piece moves and breathes and stands alone as a solid distillation and reimagining of the whole compo. Just beautiful. Of course, my favorite section would be the reworking of “time paradox”, but of course I’m biased 
The ending is just lovely. Top 3. Number one, in fact.

Extremely delicious, highly stimulating breaks. I admire your drum patterns. The track is well mixed too. Clean, wide, punchy. The way all the elements work together feels very deliberate and there’s no mush or mud whatsoever. This track was a clear winner for me! Great work!

Very atmospheric piece. “Hypnotic” feels like the right word. A very “visual” listening experience. Like being on an alien planet among some huge machinery of unknown purpose.
I like your use of filters and reverb. My only minor nag is that the “high hat” felt a bit sibilant on one monitoring system. Other than that, I enjoyed it very much. Great work!

Nice, straightforward track with decent drive. Compositionally I was left wanting more contrasts and variance between parts. I liked the arpeggio and the kick drum. The bass could have used some more colour and grit IMO. And maybe some more overall earcandy here and there could have taken the mix to the next level.

I really enjoy what you have done compositionally. Very nice atmosphere, decently laid out arrangement, structurally coherent totality. Every element feels like it has it’s own place musically and serves a purpose. Simple but effective. I could have used more variation on some elements, felt a bit stagnant at times. But I do like the overall atmosphere!
But the mixing could really use some work IMO. The basic volume balance isn’t really done for my ears and spatially the mix is a bit all over the place. Listen how in the beginning the drums are drenched in space (like you would have used only the room mics), and the bass on the other hand is straight up in your face. I feel like some of this could probably be mitigated with some carefully tuned bus compression.
It’s a nice track. I really like the atmosphere. The mix just feels unfinished.

I like the drums and the acid-ish bass. Not a fan of the vocals (I rarely am, in any track). Overall, the track felt coherent and structurally whole. Nothing to criticize really, the vocals just didn’t click with me, but that’s obviously a matter of taste/preference. Different strokes for different folks and all. Overall well done!

I really liked the way you treated the highhat rythms, especially in the beginning. The changes of pace you do with the snare also felt nice. The very enjoyable harmonies of the original carry this remix too. The stuttering vocal samples went a bit too over the board for me and started to feel too repetitive. I could have used some more earcandy too (e.g. vinyl crackles would have really suited this track IMO). Well done

Woodpecking Mantis is an absolute fucking wizard with the drums, and the production is stellar. Positively oozing with raw-as-fuck breakcore madness. I hope Mantis doesn’t mind that I plan to meticulously study their xrns file because I feel like there’s a shitload I could stand to learn from it.

Hell yeah, another calm remix! I love the almost trap-like hihats and the chopped TV/radio samples. Fills me with specifically early-90s nostalgia for some reason. It’s like you were channeling all the calm, easy-going feelings of the original, but just beneath the surface there was a bubbling unease. Really captures that sense of the early days of the end of history, before we realized just how much history we still had left to live through.

Dubby vibes, reverb haze, a dusty apache break. This right here is the beginning of the heist movie, right before we pull out the guns and shout “NOBODY FUCKING MOVE!” I really wish this one were a little longer because it’s a fun ride and I love imagining little movie scenes in my head along with a song. In this one I’m the bank teller that has an exaggerated reaction played for laughs when the guns come out.

My dumb little song that I now get to shit on!
Initially I was going to take this in a less silly direction, but I had just bought the Solaria voicebank for Synthesizer V and saw a Matt Yglesias tweet that made me angry (and was riding out a bit of a manic episode) so I decided get goofy. I’m really bad at engineering (I lean really hard on plugins…), so in lieu of mixing or mastering I just slammed the Maximizer on the master channel and tweaked as I went until things got halfway cohesive. The lyrics were written mostly at work instead of doing my job.
If I had to go back and do it again I’d probably spend more time EQing things so they sit better and checking translation with more than just cartest, because this sounds pretty boxy on everything but the headphones I made this with. Still, a lot of fun ideas in this that I’d like to maybe turn into a real song some day! I’m really glad I decided to venture out of my comfort zone and take part because this was some of the most fun I’ve had in a long, long time. I really hope to take part in the next Mutant Breaks too!
