cool tune and concept but for my listening situation the mix is all off
do you use voxengo span? Ahee has a good video on setting sub levels using span
i dont use span, but oof, ok i will check sub levels going forward
Do you have a subwoofer in your monitoring setup? Kinda goes without saying, but it’s very difficult to properly work the low end without a decent sub for monitoring. I can’t tell you how many of my old tracks have WAY too much bass just bc I couldn’t properly hear the low end without a sub.
I think this might be the ahee vid I was talking about. He has a few on sub bass. Generally his take is on point, imo
Is the issue with the sub in the track that it takes away headroom from other stuff? Because I liked the effect of the sub in the car. My monitoring setup is just an SRS-XB13, rn. As well as some headphones. I’ll check how he does it.
Too much low end and too loud. I only listened with headphones.
If you can afford it: that’s a great pair of headphones with very accurate bass response.

This is really cool and fresh - feels expansive, adventurous, very poetic almost in the way you use your loops. I’d agree that the mix is a bit unfortunate; if I were you I’d be making it super lo-fi but even and balanced. Give it some patina, a coat of grime and dirt perhaps
