Metering Porn

Would be cool to have a built in loudness meter in Renoise, I don’t know if any other DAWs have it?

Some of yall are too nerdy :D

Ha! I have actual college classes about this stuff, the K-system and the new R-128. My teacher is in the committee that sets these things up. Though I only get half of it, shit is deep yo

Found a basic vst:

I thought you were discussing ways to measure the amount of bandwidth used specifically on porn :)

Sometimes there/s an annoying squart you want to zero in on in seconds… Analyzers are awesome for that.

That’s pretty cool, I appreciate their work very much.

I saw the free Loudness Meter that Dunks posted above in rekkerd.org and it was probably the most interesting thing I came across to, regarding what I would consider stealth mixing.

Apparently it started out, and correct me if I’m wrong, from viewer complaints when watching T.V., you know, commercials. BING, ZANG, BOOM, BUY BUY OR DIE ! read the fine print.

Anyhow, I had a much better understanding of it after I started using ToneBooster’s EBU, mainly because I could see the timeline and curves of loudness. For example, a rapid succession of kicks would increase the loudness curve. There is less worry of inconsistencies and things are much faster. One technique I’m starting to experiment with is using Renoise’s multi-band send to measure loudness.

For anyone looking for more info on Loudness Measurements, links to documentation and supporting parties:

That would be…

Pretty damn awesome, actually.
