MIDI CC to VST as automation?

I’d like to input MIDI CC as automation to a VST, but I’m not sure if that’s even possible?

The use case here is that East West Play VST uses MIDI CC 1 as volume for certain sample instruments, thus I’d like to draw the changes as automation curves instead of the pattern commands (which I’m aware is a possibility to accomplish this currently).

I think the best way is to use this device.
