I am new to the forums but I have used Renoise for years.
I think it would be very nice if Renoise could export standard MIDI files as well as use standard MIDI instruments.
So far, I have had to use XRNS-SF to convert XRNS to MIDI. That isn’t the most accurate of tools, however, and all of the tracks are converted to Piano.
If Renoise could export and import MIDI files seamlessly, it would be excellent for some of the ‘classical’ composers of Renoise (a rare breed, I suppose).
Another interesting concept with standard MIDI files would be the ease of printing sheet music for Renoise generated songs. I would enjoy this very, very much.
