Can this be done ? how ?
Id like to use different “chord-player” vsts, that dont run in Renoise, run them from live, and record the midi chords the generate.
I use Pc, Vista

you need a MIDI virtual port such as MidiYoke.
use it as a MIDI out port in the other host and as a MIDI input port in Renoise.
thanx
I’ve been able to control Renoise from another program, but I haven’t figured out a way to trigger more than one instrument at a time (presumably using different MIDI channels). Renoise always triggers the selected instrument.
Is there a way to tie specific MIDI channels to specific Renoise instruments (eg. input on MIDI Ch.1 always triggers the instrument loaded into slot 01, input on MIDI Ch.2 always triggers instrument 02), making it possible to control multiple Renoise instruments in realtime?
not sure what you are using but have you seen this one?

AFAIK, you need to switch the instruments after you input them in renoise.
