I have incoming midi cc data from my cirklon , using the roland integra as a midi interface
The incoming midi cc is 74 and is on channel 2 and can be seen here in this screenshot .
On the channel I have audio realism abl3 inserted and I try to learn-midi map an automation device with this midi cc but it ain’t working .
It remains unresponsive
Isn’t CC74 the "Brightness/Cut off” parameter, the second parameter in the Instrument Automation fx?
I forgot to enable the master input midi settings but renoise is completely botched this way .
If I enable the Global “midi in” , in preferences it also takes in the note data (obviously), which I would normally choose from the input settings in the instrument itself , because there I can either route it back to my hardware or trigger a vst .
So currently there is no solution .

If I choose this option , select midi input from instrument settings I have a lot more routing flexibilities but then the learn won’t work becasue it’s not enabled in the master settings

I am triggering abl3 from my cirklon and also sending cc74 ( from cirklon ) which I wan’t to map to abl3’s cutoff in the instr.automation device .
Currently , the way renoise handles midi devices is restricted .
Mappings can only be made when there is a source selected in the global midi input device selector , which sucks .
When a source is selected in the global midi pref , it also takes that s0ource as a input for midi note data etc ..whcih I don’t need at all since I select these from the midi i-o in the instrument itself .
If the instrument provides midi learn from the gui itslef , there is no issue ( currently my abl3 gui is botched , black screen only )
Sounds complicated huh , well that’s because the way the whole midi routing is implemented is a bit of a mess imho
