OK, so after the new, improved MIDI timing has been introduced in Renoise, I’ve really started to toy around with the new possibilities, writing a CPS patch (cps.bonneville.nl) that allow external control of the songposition.
So far, things seems promising…but I’d like to see a MIDI offset that exceed 50ms (which is the current limit). I think it should be a lot higher, more like 500ms.
Edit: I just checked out Ableton Live. It has 300ms +/- for MIDI sync, and 1000ms +/- for “tracks” (which can be either MIDI, or audio-based).
