I sometimes play external sound sources via MIDI OUT on Renoise’s Piano keyboard UI.
Renoise’s Piano keyboard is easy to use, and MIDI OUT to REAPER, etc. is useful for playing CLAP, LV2, Windows plug-ins using yabridge, etc., which are not yet supported by Renoise.
Sorry if I am wrong, but it looks like Pitchbend, Modulation, and Channel Pressure played on the Piano keyboard UI are not MIDI OUT.
It would be useful if they could be MIDI out.
I know that this is possible by using the *Instr. MIDI Control
device, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to assign arbitrary MIDI CCs, etc. to the Pitchbend, etc. on the Piano keyboard UI. If there is, I’d be glad to know.
If not, it would be useful to be able to do that as well.
Thus, I feel that there is a relatively high priority on the part of the interface where functionality can be outsourced to external tools without having to implement something in Renoise’s standard. That said, I imagine that MIDI OUT is relatively easy to implement compared to audio output, etc. Sorry if I am wrong.
It might be easier to use the default output of Pitchbend, Modulation, and Channel Pressure, all of which are filtered when the Controllers
checkbox is unchecked.
Please consider implementation.
