I’m not sure if this is already a thing or if anyone has done it yet, but is there a project file that’s suitable for recording from synths/sequencers? Ideally via MIDI to automate the process.
I’ve got a cable arriving tomorrow, so if there isn’t one already, I’ll make one and share it.

Not 100% what you’re looking for I guess, but I made an overview topic some time ago about how I organize my tracks when working with hardware, to benefit from MIDI features when I’m writing with the synths plugged but also be able to work with audio only when it’s not the case

Not what I was looking for, meant a template which goes from C0 - B9 with automatable MIDI program changes.

Hmm Note Data is a standardized MIDI standard so it will work out of the box. What you might need though is MIDI CC (parameters automations) and those are different for each synths you could use.
Most synths comes with a mapping explaining what CC is assigned to what parameter, and you would need to create an Instr Midi Control preset for each of your synths.
I don’t use Paketti, but I think it comes with pre-config MIDI CC for famous synths (since I helped @esaruoho getting the right values for one of the synths I use)

Maybe because I don’t work with native renoise instruments much, which means I didn’t even consider it something to turn an external synth into a native renoise instrument
This is an excellent tool indeed, I used it to make multisample instruments from my Yamaha SW1000XG synth.
If you need further processing of the recorded samples, consider the tool I’ve put together specificaly for this kind of workflow.
