Mixsets Upload ?

mhh, I just uploaded a mixset on archive.org and now realized that this might not have been right … I uploaded it to the “audio”-section because I thought it might not fit in the “live”-section …

can anyone tell me if that was a good idea and if not, where is a good place to upload mixsets ?

Archive is sooo slow :) Actually, I never downloaded anything from that site. I guess, Mixsets are best saved on your PC and offered through torrents. Or you use your own webspace but I don’t know the legal issues…

mhh, I dont care about slow actually, a decent downloadmanager should take care of that.

but I really dont want to put 400mb of mixsets on my own server and there is some lawyer here in germany browsing the web and ripping off people having mixsets hosted on their page. I dont have mixsets of GEMA-members, but I dont think he cares.

well, I will just upload that stuff on archive.org, I dont think bad things can happen except they delete it. its rather strange that there is no info to be found in the faqs or the forums concerning that matter.

Hm I think that music (and audio in general) on the archive.org subsites should comply to the creative commons license (http://creativecommons.org/). A mixset cannot be licensed under this kind of free license unless you own all the material.

If you want to find mix upload services, google is your friend. I however cannot rate any of them since I use my dad’s webspace and domain name to host my mixes…

mm, musicv2 seems to be a nice option. waxdj.com sounds nice on the paper, but the forums are full of people complaining about stuff…
