Hi, I’m trying to MIDI map the single start/stop transport button on my MPK Mini IV. The only option in the MIDI mapper is “start/stop playback [set]” - consequently the button will start playback, but it won’t stop it. What I need is “start/stop playback [toggle]” but it doesn’t exist. This has been driving me nuts for about an hour - surely it can’t be that difficult. What am I missing?
when having issues like this, i always turn to LUA scripting. Paketti has a large set of tooling for starting and stopping, and especially a ton of midimappings that are not natively available in Renoise. such as a midimapping that both turns you to Pattern Editor, sets Pattern Follow On, and sets EditMode (Record Mode) On. this kind of stuff.
If you’re looking for midimappings that aren’t already in Paketti, please describe in full detail what you want them to do and I will then just script them. Most of these transport-related things are easy to do, just require some thinking from the workflow point of view - i.e., what’s the best combo.
