Murcof

I really like this guys work just wondering if anymore of you guys out there have heard much of his stuff get Martes amazing really laid back glitch beats combining sampled based orchestra instruments, pretty amazing stuff, do you think he is using Max/MSP to create his processed beats?

Hey!
Fernando Corona’s project called Murcof is awesome!

I know he uses reaktor a lot and mainly samples + vst processing + lot of ringmod and pitch shift and a great taste in composition

On an interview if i remember well he said he doesn’t use Max/msp with this expression “i’m not one of those math guys”

woo!

ofcoz, its very nice!

recommended indeed!..

“death of a forest” is totally haunting, especially from 3:14 onwards. so inspiring…

never heard about this artist before this thread, but i totally enjoy what he’s doing (at least the two songs i’ve heard so far).
nowadays music-writing and sound-design are inseparably hardwired to each other where the one couldn’t exist in an appealing way without the other.
murdoc is “lucky” enough to excel in both worlds.
wished i knew how to get my instruments sound that vivid and expressive.

btw: anyone knows where the occasionally used female vocals come from? is it a vocalist from murdoc’s realm of acquaintanceships?

I have been really stuck on the Murcof project for the last 3 months! Glad to see the name pop up.
He’s out under some different names too… great stuff! :walkman:

“Death of a forest” is part of the album “Versaille sessions”

He did this work on commission for the anniversary of Versaille “castle”
They gave him an entire Baroc orchestra with ancient instruments to record whatever e wanted
I think the voice at the end (awesome) has been recorded for the track itself

Last summer i met him here in Italy and told me about this Versaille project

Cosmos is an amazing album and easily my favorite. The less beats the better.
