I’ve made a polyphonic version of mutable instruments plaits in plugdata , using the ported code ( ported code not done by me )
It’s worth having plugdata for this alone
Make sure the patch and subpatch loaded in the clone instance are ins the same folder .
The controls depend on the chosen algoritm , just like the hardware
Cpu use is verry (verry ) low compared to poly versions in vcv rack while sounding exactly the same .
The patch is mutable_2
and the patch inside the clone object is emilie_2_clo
Have fun , it sounds amazing
any chance you could make a demo video with audio so could figure out what this is about, please?
Are you serious ?
There are hundreds of videos of mutable istruments plaits .
Arturia freak (botth hard -soft) has plaits algoritms etc
It’ s a hardware eurorack device with dozens of dsp algoritms , the dsp is open source .
And the latest update gave all dx7 banks and some new algoritms
https://pichenettes.github.io/mutable-instruments-documentation/modules/plaits/
impressive indeed, sounds very nice! Thanks for this.
Not that familiar with plugdata, but is there a way the different parameters from this patch can be made visible, automatable in Renoise’s instr. automation device?
Right now only the global volume parameter can be controlled afaics, the rest of the 512 sliders are labelled as disabled.
Insert object (ctrl-1 ) called param and give it a name
Clik on the right side and open automation panel , and click new parameter
Give it the same name as the param object
connect it to the control
Also , for variations of the algoritms click alt-out ( just like on the hardware )
The audiorate lfo’s are an addition and really expand synthesis options
Thanks for the tip, will do.
thing is, if i don’t see how it looks like with renoise with plugdata, it’s not exactly it is it?
i was hoping to see it running in renoise, with plugdata. cos the screenshot is of the editing mode, not the finished mode (with just an interface, enabled, i guess?)
Apparently there is a caveat
When you create the params in the right side panel , there are also saved with the host settings
So when you save your renoise song , plugdata restores this panel
But , when you create a new renoise song and load the instrument , this panel is deleted .
If you want to save the param panel separately , choose export workspace
If you want plugdata to create the parameters automatically when loading the patch , you need to send the messages 'create name of paramter ’ and range , into the param object
I know , lot of work but it only needss to be done once
Or you just save the daw state , then you don’tneed to
I’ll re-upload a version with all the necessary work already done
UPdated link , params are automatically created on load
I’m a bit slow today
