No issues on my end. I am using headphones however.

Thank you, not sure why it happens on my tablet though, it’s supposed to have good speaker system made by AKG, but it doesn’t even seem to help turning the volume down, it still crackles at low volumes. I also noticed some of the same crackles on Fosterr Gump’s track too, so i guess it’s just that my tablet is pretty far from being a high end sound system. :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit: i now also noticed that the track has much less crackles when i play from the browser and not the soundcloud app for some reason and for extra convenience soundloud won’t let me access the in-browser version of soundcloud, it automatically sends me to the shitty app.

my personal opinions on the tracks entered :

No 1 ( winner / gold ) :

Global Warming - The Bellows

nice lead sound, strange ( tape saturation maybe )

nice hihats and percussion subtlety, panning, human-ness

nice combo of human instruments with modern sounds

nice unexpected changes

nice melodies

love the feel of the flute instrument - medieval court style

everything carved into its own space.

great arrangement, great songwriting

No 2 ( runner up / silver ) :

Local Cooler - Raegae system :

nice mix of human instrumentation with breaks and stuff

great live / human jams style sound

nice dub style effects

Only negative thing id say about it is that the mixdown/mastering sounded a bit washed out on my headphones.

maybe it was mixed down / mastered / EQ’d / whatever on very trebley earphones?

No 3 ( Bronze ) :

Dawn of a new beginning - Komu :

nice textures

nice layering of samples and synths

nice ambience

nice use of negative space / simplicity

perfect mix and master, everything crisp and clear.

the right level at 50% volume on my laptop using headphones

No 4 ( notable for some things ) :

Climate skeptic in the antartic - Maya Azem

nice movement in the chords towards the end,

some nice skippiness / groove / humanness in the rythms

sounded a little like it was clipping a little bit with all the effects at the beginning

yeah, those are my personal views on the Mutant Breaks #11 entries

My unofficial reviews/opinions in the order I listened to them in (mine is not in the list because that would be obvious bias):

Sodiufas - Glaciers

I like the ambience, sounds like it could be in the background for either a horror movie, cave, lab, or possibly a really serious/suspenseful moment. Not bad though it wasn’t a full song.

Stailer - Hymn To Nature

I love the drums in it, the synths were great and the vocal treatment gave it a kind of tribal chant vibe that along with the drums in the beginning gave it an earthy feeling.

Basicmethods - systems resilients

Sounds like a somewhat psychedelic jazzy jam. Wish there was more going on with the guitar.

Garfferen - The End

Sounds like a great club song that can also work as fight music for a movie.

wurzelgemuse - gigantomanie

A bit too repetitive to me but it definitely had some earthy/tribal vibes.

Gump - 128

Seemed kind of repetitive but it did sounds like there were things happening to the ice caps.

Sunnk - Heat Death

There was a missing plugin message so I’m not sure what it was supposed to sound like but it sounded like some ambient at the beginning and then turned into some really noisy stuff with too much of what sounded like a ball being dropped.

Komu - Dawn Of A New Beginning

Nice cinematic ambience, sounds like something serious is about to go down. I could see parts of it playing for maybe a heist planning, some spy mission planning, or maybe a hacking montage.

Rægæ - System Local Cooler

I liked how the beginning had a cinematic feel and the brief part where it sounded like it was going to maybe be some western themed music.

RedPanda13 - ManBearPig is Real, I’m Cereal

Sounds like someone had a trippy time trying to get away from ManBearPig.

Maya Azem - Climate Sceptic in the Antarctic

I was disappointed there wasn’t a funny joke argument back and forth after the newsflash section.I was expecting a bit more to happen in the melting sea ice section.

I liked it except for the big dubstep distortion part drags on filtered a tad longer than I’d like at the end.

lusd - Global Warming - 0.67

Nice cop chase, I would like to see how that turns out.

FX Send - Puffin Iceberg

I wish there was more variety in the 0-coast part.

Vaeperism - Thermic

It was interesting but it did give off an ominous somewhat creepy vibe.

GhisMart - wind and fire on earth

It was a bit too busy and creepy sounding at times for me. I liked the drum filtering

Lilith 93 - Climate Change

Very nice old school sounds in there.

Heh, thats mainly because I had no time to mix/master/eq properly at all.

And yeah, our jam was accidentally recorded with imac:s microphone that was located behind allkinds of objects, and not with ours high quality studio mic so the quality is bit fuzzy and thats why your hear so many mac mouse clicks …

Good techno track with a nice surprise at the end.

Very professional deep house sounding.

Good energy in this techno track that makes me bounce.

This track all native is a real trip that evolves over time.

Nice electro track that gives you a boost of positive energy.

  1. RedPanda13 - ManBearPig Is Real, Im Cereal!

Love that bitcrushed snare and the work around voice samples.

  1. Thermal Reflections by CryoKitsune

Nice electro tune that makes me think about spring or autumn or both.

  1. FX Send - Puffin Iceberg

Very nice IDM / braindance / electronica track.

It’s short but good but short but good. Let’s say intense.

A bit dark, not too fast, not too slow, just perfect.
