related: what do you guys think of google music which launched in the us (meh :<) yesterday? read about it here: http://googleblog.bl…m_medium=go-and
for people on this board i’d guess that these two features are the most interesting:
you can sell your own music via google music and youtube. there’s a start fee of $25 USD and 70 % of profit from sales so the terms are worse than bandcamp http://www.slashgear…arted-16195902/
commercial blurb:
Artist hub Whether you’re on a label or the do-it-yourself variety, artists are at the heart of Google Music. With the Google Music artist hub, any artist who has all the necessary rights can distribute his or her own music on our platform, and use the artist hub interface to build an artist page, upload original tracks, set prices and sell content directly to fans—essentially becoming the manager of their own far-reaching music store. This goes for new artists as well as established independent artists, like Tiesto, who debuts a new single on Google Music today.

I count myself lucky if anyone wants to listen to my music, never mind trying to sell it, but in general I think online stores which cater to independent artists are a very good thing. The more middle-men that are cut out of the process the better.
