got the new card today, slotted the thing in, put drivers cd in, then like near the end it came up with this ‘not passed the windows logo’ bull, what’s all this about???
well?
and by the way i have no sound
The “Windows Compatibility Test” is just a license, MS gives to hardware vendors to make sure that the card works perfect. In fact, it is just another money-source for microsoft because this license is not very cheap. Terratec Aureon Space does also not pass this test.
Install driver anyway…
ahright thanks, ok, I HAVE SOUND NOW!!! WAHOOO! low latency asios!!!111
I believe the 111 is the 1337 language and not your asio audio latency value right?
im just too leet for this forum lol
anyway, renoise with asio i goes to 3ms - i guess that’s a good thing!!
Yeah loads of cards do not pass this test. Not a problem. Installing the EMU 1616m is a pain in the arse because of this…
Does anyone know if there is a hack to disable this request from Windows everytime an unknown card is installed?
Windows key+Pause/Break -> Hardware tab -> Driver Signing button.
Try changing it to ignore and tick the checkbox
How silly of me.
You should call E-MU and tell them to amend their installation guide. This would save them a page or two in paper.
My graphics card did this for a while, to absolutely no effect other than an annoying dialogue upon install, although it seems they have paid their licence now as the last driver update I did made no mention of it
