New Tool: Combine Instruments

Spent a whole day making my first Lua program. It basically copies samples from several instruments into one. I couldn’t find a way to copy samples fast, so big samples take quite a lot of time to be processed (don’t worry if Renoise wants to terminate process). Hope you’ll find it useful! Any feedback is appreciated.

hi @Lneheb - what happens if the selected instruments have

  • plugins
  • track fx chain content
  • mod groups / fx chain groups
  • midi out channels
  • modulation devices
  • loopmode
  • NNA
  • autoseek, autofade, beatsync…

how are they named after the combining happens? how do you select stuff, from the instrument box or from sample keyzones?

p.s. you should add this forum thread to the renoise tool page so people can download your tool and then come here to converse

i think the name of each sample remains the same (as in the sampler window)

how do you select stuff, from the instrument box or from sample keyzones?

right click on the instruments box, select “combine instruments”, choose the index numbers of the instruments you want to combine. It combines all the instruments in the range you choose. So, for example, if you choose the range 08 to 0B, it will combine instruments 08, 09, 0A, 0B. It will skip all the empty instruments

I need to check, but i think it just copies the samples without plugins, fx, modulation and any properties. Just audio
