hey @martblek,
do you know if it is possible to alter the code of this tool so that it doesn’t clear all existing samples within an instrument when a new instance of the tool is invoked? It would be great to be able to call the tool to create multiple waveform samples within one xrni without having to use a second xrni as a clipboard.
thanks again for the great tool totally love the sounds I can get with it
There will be a new version of the program, that’s for sure,
but unfortunately, the problems I had in my personal life were not resolved over the summer,
so I have other things in my top priority for now.
Anyway, I have a new version in the works and sometimes I sketch what it should be able to do.
A few things could be done differently, etc. Not deleting samples was already in version 0.17,
but unfortunately this version will not be published.
There will be an MX version, which I would like to have completely clear head.
I have developed 2 new tools,
one of which is again for the creation of samples and the other is more focused on automation and the creation of waveforms.
The working names are Harmoniks and Chaotic attractors.
Harmoniks works with Phase distortion and some other algorithms.
I hope, better times is comming soon for me.
Thanks for your patience.
@martblek - that ‘Harmonics’ Tool looks like what I was kinda/sorta begging for in an earlier tool that nobody was fixing to update, ‘Zynzilla’. Glassy sine-waves! Heck, I’d be happy to test it in its current form - working on a new album and those types of tones would be beautiful. I’ll be heading to work soon, but will be taking some time over the weekend to get more of my work complete.
I, too, hope for your life to improve at some point. That would be great news!
These tools look amazing. Exciting that you’re able to integrate phase distortion! I look forward to testing them when the time arrives. Thank you for adding value to an already excellent piece of software. Your efforts are definitely appreciated.
Life can certainly be a motherfucker sometimes. I hope things get easier and that you can emerge stronger and wiser from the challenges. Pm me if there’s anything I can do to help. Best of luck
I was just figuring you’d let us mess around with your upcoming Tools! It’s really early AM here, but I will also work on testing out the ZynZilla Tool soon.
any chance you want to take on fixing up grid pie at some point? It’s probably a bigger project, but it would be truly awesome if we had some better, functional, live performance tools
Is it possible you forward keypresses in your tool, so if for example you want to preview notes pressing the computer keyboard, changing a slider in your tool wont break it? It is mentioned here; https://forum.renoise.com/t/tool-forwarding-of-keypresses/
Getting lots of very interesting sounds with this. Really fun tool.
Could you shed some light on what the checkboxes left to period/amp/phase do exactly? (in the AXX and XQ panel)
Hello,
Thanks for asking.
I mean that I have to write a manual for the next version.
After ticking these checkboxes, the wave created in oscillator 1
affects only the selected item in the other oscillators, even without using the OP functions below.
If you only select the amplitude in oscillator 2, the wave from oscillator 1
will be modulated to the amplitude of oscillator 2.
The rest are the same spells.
Hey, thanks for the quick clarification. Although I have to admit that it doesn’t bring me a lot closer to the “I know what I’m doing” stage But I’m experimenting my way to it.
There are quite a few great sound generation tools for renoise. I really wish that in a future version it was possible to talk to their parameters via automation/ meta devices.
also I (and my speakers) found out that dc auto offseting the outcome is a pretty good idea when you try to filter or distort afterwards. those aztecs like to dance off center it seems
