Here’s a new track I made entirely on renoise. The organ sound actually came from a sample I recorded of a bunch of frogs croaking. I also recorded guitar, upright bass, harmonica and vocals all using the sample recorder function in renoise. The flow is a little different from a standard tape machine style multitrack recorder but it actually works really well.
Thanks for listening!

Nice work! The mix sounds pretty good and clean. I might take the guitar down a little… I think the vocal effects obscure/muddy your voice a little too much. I would duck the effects chain with a signal follower, so that the fx kick in as the vocal sound fades, leaving a drier/more present vocal sound to lead each word/phrase.
If you’re not familiar with the concept, check out the chain verb doofer I posted in the sine wave thread. you could do something similar with a signal follower and a hydra to modulate the vocal effect chain in real time against the amplitude of the vocal signal. I think it would clean up the sound quite a bit and let your voice shine through the mix more.
Thanks! Yeah there’s so much to learn about mixing that it’s awesome having folks here that have been in the game long enough to get that knowledge from. I’ve been a musician and songwriter for decades now but I’m really only a couple years deep on producing on a computer.
