Niche question - can anyone get 'command+f14'/'command+f15' available to map in Renoise on MacOS?

New Mac user here with the extended Apple keyboard, the one with the number pad.

I’ve managed to get most key commands that seem to be ‘reserved’ by the OS available in Renoise via a combination of disabling them in the OS settings and via Terminal (in the case of ‘option+f14’ and ‘option+f15’) but I can’t figure these last two out. Neither of them seem to do anything obvious when used outside of Renoise either, which kind of makes it harder to Google for.

Obviously missing two key commands isn’t massively crucial, it’s more annoying me than anything else . Just wondering if anyone else has tried and succeeded?

Hello!

The best way is to simply reassign hot keys to another. Since after updating the system Apple often introduces new rules and combinations.

Thanks, yeah I did wonder if that might happen and how often! That sounds quite annoying.

I have to say it’s a bit difficult switching over to a different keyboard layout after decades of muscle memory on PC… At first I tried to make it more PC-like by switching the modifiers and using Karabiner-Elements but there were some issues with that and it would probably end up being just as confusing in the end. It seems better to do it the Apple way but I don’t think I’ll be able to switch to using Renoise on my Windows laptop again afterwards - too confusing.

On the positive side, the extra modifier key is quite nice to have!

i can give F14 F15 a try on my numpad-extended-keyboard tomorrow.
