I’ve made a Vlog for my daily renoise session using the nintendo ds music applications but it’s in italian. I don’t know if the subtitles are available. BUT
here’s a summary of what I’m currently working with:
1- Nitrotracker!!! I mostly use it to record FILTHY sounds on the nintendo microphone. The very primordial nature of it’s interface gives me the messy sound that i’m searching for
2- Korg NDS10!!! my god, I lllove how “alive” a sound can be if you are messing with an organic interface. I just need to put my hands on something that is not a computer and everything will be alright
3- fm radio into my crappy mp3 player. I’ve recorded this piece on a random night when i wasn’t able to sleep. Messy stolen sample found outside the internet.
4- Renoise. I collect these sounds and Renoise helps me to do the rest. I find that having all these pieces BEEFORE going into a Daw is a perfect way to start a project. I’m avoiding the “too many options” problem of starting on a blank daw.
