i have some problem even with vsts , couldnt find such simple thing
to manage and redistribute audio chanels this way
lleft=(-100%…100% of left + -100%…100% of right ) (invert)
right=(-100%…100% of left + -100%…100% of right ) (invert)
it could expand stereo feeling, real mono (not only one chanel like in renois by now)
cut mono sounds (vocal cut), swap chenels , invert them, and so on
i couldnt understand why its not implementet yet
With the internal instruments of Renoise you could simply pan away left or right, use a senddevice to send the audio to a sendtrack and then use the stereo-expander in the sendtrack to center the signal to a mono signal (live manipulation)
You can also render the selection and then convert the sampletype to mono in the sample editor.
With VST plugins the live manipulation trick might or might not work since the audio stream itself is hardly seperable but i haven’t tested this myself yet (and am now currently running Linux without having a decent VST to test this actually)
its not about mono makeing…
its about 100% chanel manipulation
to make your own left and right chanel saunding form portions of source l and r, its not comfortable to make with send track, but its
only one way by now
