I’ve noticed that when using the Cx effect for sampler instruments, the cut is instantaneous, which means that there’s effectively no way of having a note last less than a line if you have any kind of release on your instrument. Could we maybe have the note cut work so that it’s really more of a note-off? Or have a separate note-off effect?
Note “cut” is self explaining. It cuts the note instantly. If you want a note off, that also supports the release of your instrument, there’s one. Just insert it by pressing the “A” key.
Having a note last less than a line can already be done with phrases. Simply create a short phrase with a LPB higher than the rest of the song, and have a C-4 note followed by a Note OFF command. Then you can use the phrase trigger command whenever you want the shorter note.

That’s a cool little hack! Thanks. Still, I hope this gets addressed.
I stumbled over this several times, too. But i think this could break backward compatibility, when its got fixed. Maybe as song property, enabled by default for renoise 3.1 songs.
