can some one find it for me? it’s a hotkey for the patturn loop, but it doesn’t exsist on my keyboard 4sure!
It should be the return / enter key on your numpad.
But in programmers term that key (or scancode) is called “numpad equal”
aha thanks.
hello
if NumpadEqual is the Enter key on the numpad then what is NumpadEnter?
shouldn’t they be the same thing
The default settings are:
Toggle Loop Pattern = NumpadEqual
Toggle Block Playing = NumpadEnter
Wouldn’t they be the same key? am i missing something?
Hmmz, you got something there… In the programming world these two keys seem to have different scancodes… however i can’t track any keyboard that has a layout with an equal sign.
While on the investigation… there is also such a thing as “numpadcomma” which is not the same as “numpadperiod”.
It would make me think these codes can only be achieved with a keycombo (ctrl+numenter or shift+numenter) however keycombos are defined seperately in Renoise.
But hey it’s 6 o’clock in the morning for me… maybe after a few cups of coffee i am bright enough to figure it out correctly.
Is it possible to access the block loop without having a numpad (e.g. laptop)
and without using the mouse?
Yes, just assign the function to whatever key you want in the preferences → keybindings tab.
I’m guessing it’s the same key with Num Lock on or off… but does Renoise use Num Lock toggle?
I just cleared the key for Toggle Block Playing which was NumpadEnter
Then went back in and tried pressing numpad enter with num lock on and off but it didn’t do anything
So, what it NumpadEqual now?
From what I remember mac keyboards have an “equal” key on their numpads. Maybe that’s the one?
Exactly that. NumPadEquals is a Mac only (and maybe some external numpads) shortcut. You’ll have to reassign the shortcut if you need what is assigned to it and don’t have it. A lot of people don’t have a NumPad at all.
Uhm, it might be a good idea to get rid of a Mac-only default shortcut for a cross-platform programme!
There’s a few which are PC only too. Just something you’ll have to live with!
Everything is user assignable at the end of the day so not something that should be too much of a worry.
Which ones are these? I don’t think this is a good idea either, just for the record.
Some countries use comma when separating decimals. Some use period instead. So there needs to be both, different for different standards.
