Octamed To Rns Project

About 1.5 year ago I started to convert some of my old MED-modules by first loading them into ModPlug and then saving them as xm and finally load them into Renoise. The workflow was not optimal, but it did actually worked in most cases ;) But a real conversion-tool would of course be the best. So this can turn out to be a very intressting little project ;)

Nice one. I did mean Soundstudio too btw!

hey twilek … nice to read you again! greetings from north-east Germany (formerly known as south Sweden ;o) )

Alex

I’ve got quite literally hundreds of songs made in Med Soundstudio for the PC. I would love to be able to convert them over–I could make them sound so much better than they did, and I could finish many of my unfinished songs.

Well, hopefully you will be able to convert them in a not too distant future. :) For now the converter is on hold until there are any news on the new xrns format…

i remember a while ago when renoise first came out on pc. . . i bought a cable that connected to the serial / parrallel (dont remember) port of my amiga and its drives then just appeared on my p.c. like a p.c. hard drive. . . .
worked like a sweet dream.

ill try to dig out the name of the cable…but im sure most people with google (everyone) can source it if its still available. . .

on a more serious matter. . .
one of the greatest things about octamed was its ability to hand draw soudwaves into the sample editor. . .
then this could be used as a waveform to play a sound. . .
anyone aware of the fairlight CMI knows how great, and important, this feature is. . .
HELLO DEVS ! ! ! ! !
any chance this could be implemented whilst youre adding a record button to the sample editor ???

check this clip for a history lesson . . . :)

Yup, I used this a lot when I still used my Amiga. It’s called something like pc2amiga and I used it with a parallel cable which was faster, but it can probably be used over serial as well. My problem is that I’m lazy and the Amiga is stored away in my brother’s garage though :) Thanks for the tip anyway!

cool 80s video … thanx!!!

Do you mean a serial null modem cable?
