The problem is that the machine has 8GB RAM, but the Renoise Tracker data appearantly sees only the first 4GB of it. Every time when the used RAM gets filled up to the 4GB mark, Renoise either gives an error message and exits or hangs up.
Are you using the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Renoise?
You will only be able to access more than 4GB of memory in the 64-bit version.
Here I am quite happily using almost 6.5GB in Renoise 2.8 64-bit, on my Windows 7 64-bit system with 8GB RAM. I had a lot of different large (100MB+) samples loaded at the time:

What I have to do if I meet all those system requirements?
Yes, it’s Windows 7 X64. And I’m using X64 Renoise v 2.8.
You might have a hardware issue, i really doubt this is a Renoise problem, here is a similar case report: http://www.silentpcr…pic.php?t=59845
First option would be to try and swap memory dimms with eachother.
Found another quote somehere else but i don’t know if this is the key answer:
Perhaps you can give a few more details about your particular song/project set up, how you are actually using more than 4GB memory, etc?
For example:
Are you using many instances of a really heavy VST sampler instrument?
Are you using a huge amount of individual samples in your song, and hitting the 4GB limit this way?
Maybe you have one or two really huge samples in your song and you’re hitting the limit this way, ie. maybe some very (very!) long recordings at a high sample rate?
Are you doing a lot of sample editing of really long samples, and maybe hitting the memory limit there when try to cut/copy/paste/etc?
Do you have the world’s most complex song, with 1000 patterns that are 512 lines long, with 1000 tracks, and every pattern line is filled with data?
Something else?
Ultimately, Renoise can only use the memory that your system is able to provide. As Vv has mentioned, it could be a hardware problem, or a problem with the way Windows itself is configured.
Do you see the full 8GB RAM reported in your system properties? (Press [Windows Key] + [Pause/Break] to quickly open the properties panel)
Or in Task Manager? (Press [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Delete] > Task Manager > Performance tab)
