If you are using Ableton Live as your ReWire Master, and playback is on, and you are looking to quit Renoise, then do not quit Renoise, as it will stop playback, instead, use Force Quit to quit Renoise. This will not stop your Ableton Live playback.
however, you will then not be able to start Renoise in rewire slave mode, as the rewire connection will have been destroyed.
