I can’t reproduce this though, but a crash happened when opening Kontakt.
I have attached the log file if you wanna take a look.
The only real unusual thing I did in that song was rendering some CM-505drums down, and I’ve changed some filters in my template to use the new.

Have a look. The log ends rather abruptly I think and Renoise didn’t even report that a crash had happend after reopening.
Btw. I cut the log short, it was getting rather large… so it starts from the faulty session to a new where I was reopening Renoise after it crashed.
Is there something in the apple crash reporter logs?
Maybe it’s related, but there’s one “known” bug in Kontakt (I think it affects many NI products): opening, closing and then quickly re-opening a plugin’s UI may cause a crash - randomly. You can try this by clicking like mad on the “Ext Editor” button in Renoise with Kontakt. Happens in others hosts too, but is quite random. Sometimes easy, sometimes hard to replicate.
This very likely is a bug in the plugin and we tried to work around it in the past, but we can’t really avoid this. So it still may happen. Reported the issue it a while ago to NI but I’m not sure what happened with that.

just a follow up, it’s been working for a long time now and I actually don’t know why
Garf: Just curious, what OS are you using?
I have mad problems with plugins/instruments with Mojave. 
That’s on a High Sierra laptop.
I’m currently working on setting up a new desktop computer, I tried to install Mojave on it but have trouble with a 970 EVO NVME SSD, in the process I did read other musicians have some kind of trouble on it so once I get another SSD I’ll actually try install High Sierra instead.
