i don’t know if im being dumb but is there a button that activates the editstep without you needing to type in a note or press the delete key?

hmm, this sounds like a prime candidate for scripting. let me just script it.
ok, so i added “set editstep 00” to “set editstep 64”, and “set random editstep 0-64” and “set random editstep 1-64”, and “show editstep dialog” which lets you quickly type in an editstep and press enter and dialog closes and editstep is in use.

there’s also 0-64 and 1-64 midimapping flavors for a midiknob to go from 0…127 and thus from 0…64 or from 1…64.
but looks like “step by editstep (forwards)” & “step by editstep (backwards)” would make sense. so let me just…

thank you, this is incredibly useful and also removes my need to upgrade keyboard because i use the delete key to skip between notes a lot.
