I’m new to phrases, but want to get my head around for once and for all. Now I’m in keymap mode and want to drag and drop a phrase on the keyboard, so I can trigger it from that key.
The bar above the keys also states “Drag and drop phrases from the grid here”.
When I drag it over the keys, the mousepointer turns into a dashed circle, and I can’t drop it on a key, does anybody know what I’m doing wrong?
This only works in Keymap mode. Program mode is for only one phrase at a time (the one you clicked in the grid to make it “active”), so you can play the phrase over the whole keyboard in different note pitches.
In Keymap mode you can place different phrases on different notes. Good for different melodies/sequences per note, or to create different chord progressions etc.
In Keymap mode every single phrase is only played by the note where you placed the phrase or its set note range over several notes. They then will play in their original pitch if a phrase is only placed on a single note or they can be played pitched in their set note range.
I use the Keymap mode a lot for my programmed drum breaks to have different programmed variations of the same used break.
When i look at your screenshot, are you trying to drag the phrase on the keyboard keys? If so, you have to drag it above the keyboard into the bar where it says “drag and drop phrases here”.
